THE ROLE.

Physiotherapist — Musculoskeletal, Clinical Lead pathway

You're three to five years in. You're the one the new grads quietly come to, the one who stays back to talk a client through their fear, the one who's been acting senior without the title. You've told yourself you don't mind — you love the work, and helping people is why you're here. Both things can be true: you can love your work and deserve to be recognised for it. That's what this role is for.

Full-time
3-5 years experience
MSK + exercise rehab
Clinical lead in 12 months

What your weeks look like

  • A broad, quality MSK caseload — appointment lengths set by clinical need, not a KPI dashboard
  • Exercise-based rehabilitation built into care, enabled by on-site reformer studio and gymnasium
  • Structured mentoring of you by an experienced principal physiotherapist — and, from month four, mentoring by you of our junior clinicians
  • Protected non-clinical time to build the standards, protocols and CPD direction you'll own as Clinical Lead
  • Real relationships with local GPs and referrers who know your name

What you'll need

  • AHPRA registration as a physiotherapist, no restrictions
  • Roughly 3–5 years of clinical experience with a strong MSK foundation
  • A track record of mentoring, formal or informal, and a real appetite for the accountability of a lead title
  • Commitment to evidence-based, client-centred care
  • Based in Tamworth — or ready to relocate for the long term, not a two-year adventure
  • A bonus, not a must: clinical Pilates or exercise rehab qualifications, or interest in women's health as part of a broader caseload
Meet most of this, not all of it? Please still get in touch — that hesitation is usually a sign you're exactly who we're looking for.

THE PATHWAY.

A leadership pathway with a date on it

Not "one day". Not "when a spot opens up". Milestones agreed in writing at commencement, reviewed together, and a formal appointment at the end of them.

Months 1–3

Foundation

Embed in the team, establish your caseload, learn our clinical systems and standards of care.

Months 4–9

Development

Begin structured mentoring of junior clinicians. Take ownership of agreed clinical standards and CPD direction, with protected non-clinical time.

Months 10–12

Clinical Lead

Formal appointment, with lead loading and defined scope: clinical supervision, standards and quality across the team.

Years 2–5

A long-term future

Leadership is the beginning, not the ceiling. For those who want it, there are bigger conversations to have about your long-term future here — and we'll have them together, when the time is right.

WHY HERE.

Five things we'll put in writing

01

A timeline, not a promise

Clinical Lead within 12 months, progressed against milestones agreed before you start. You'll know exactly what the pathway looks like from your first week.

02

A future, not just a job

We're a growing practice, built deliberately so the people who help build it share in where it goes. Leadership first — and, for those who want it, a genuine long-term future beyond it.

03

Mentoring, not isolation

Structured supervision from an experienced principal physiotherapist, a dedicated CPD allowance, protected non-clinical time and a real team. Regional does not mean alone.

04

Time to actually treat

Appointment lengths set by what the client needs. Exercise rehab and clinical Pilates integrated into care. You were trained to change outcomes, not churn a diary.

05

A salary that builds something

Competitive base, CPD allowance, lead loading on appointment, relocation support — in a city where a physio's salary converts to a home deposit in years, not decades.

+

A culture worth belonging to

Curiosity over criticism. Clarity over chaos. Clinicians treated with the same care as clients — more on that just below.

HOW WE WORK.

How we look after our people

Because none of the career pathway matters if the everyday doesn't work for your life.

Flexibility that's real

School pickup, appointments, life — planned around, not apologised for

A caseload built to last

Sustainable by design; burnout isn't a badge of honour here

Clarity, not criticism

We assume everyone wants to do a good job; expectations are clear and feedback is kind

You, whole

We hire people, not billing units — and we'd like you still thriving here in five years

This is you if:

  • You've asked about progression and been told "not yet" one too many times
  • You're quietly doing more than your role asks — and you've been hoping someone would notice
  • You're tired of re-earning the same recognition every year while the timeline for 'your turn' never gets shorter
  • You grew up regional — or you find yourself dreaming about open space, a shorter commute, a community that knows your name, and the kind of place you'd want to bring kids up
  • One day, you'd like a stake in the place you help build — not just a salary

It's probably not you if…

  • You're picturing a two-year regional chapter before heading back to the city
  • You'd rather keep a purely hands-on caseload, without the mentoring or standards work
  • A lead title appeals, but the responsibility that comes with it doesn't feel like you yet

No hard feelings either way — but we'd rather both know now.

THE PLACE.

Tamworth is not a dot on the map

A regional city of more than 60,000 people, and for plenty of our clients and colleagues, home. If you grew up around here, you already know. If you didn't — here's what the city never mentions about regional life.

Under an hour to Sydney

Direct daily flights. Closer to the city, door to door, than half of Sydney is to itself.

Housing that's actually buyable

A home deposit on a physio's salary measured in years, not decades. Do the maths against your current rent.

Careers for partners too

Health, education, agribusiness, trades, government — a real regional economy, not a single-industry town.

A life outside work

Sport, music, schools, and a community where you're a name, not a number. Weekends stop being errands.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS.

The questions you're actually asking

These are the things physios ask us privately. Here they are publicly.

WHO WE ARE.

Fit2Function Allied Health

We're a high quality physiotherapy and Pilates practice in Tamworth, building a model of regional care we think should exist everywhere: evidence-based treatment, genuine time with clients, centralised systems that let clinicians be clinicians — and a business designed so the people who build it share in it. You'd be joining early, on purpose.

APPLY.

Let's get you off the waiting list

No selection-criteria essays. No cover letter theatre. One question:

Where do you want your career to be in five years — and what's standing in the way of that where you are now?

1. Send your CV and your answer — a few honest paragraphs beats a formal letter every time.

2. We'll talk. A real conversation with Jess & Mel, our directors and principal physiotherapists — about you, the pathway, and whether we fit.

3. Come see it. A paid visit day: the clinic, the caseload, the team, a drive around town. Bring your partner.
