Women’s Pelvic Health Physiotherapy

Expert, compassionate care for your pelvic health - across every stage of life.

Pelvic health is an essential part of your overall health, strength, and wellbeing - yet it’s often misunderstood, under-discussed, or dismissed as “just part of being a woman.”

At Fit 2 Function, our women’s pelvic health physiotherapists provide evidence-based, respectful care to help you understand your body, reduce symptoms, and move forward with confidence.

You don’t need to be “broken” to seek support.
You just need the right guidance.

What Is Women’s Pelvic Health Physiotherapy?

Women’s pelvic health physiotherapy focuses on the muscles, connective tissue, nerves, and movement patterns of the pelvis - and how they interact with your whole body.

This includes:

  • Pelvic floor muscles & conditions

  • Abdominal wall

  • Hips and lower back

  • Breathing and nervous system regulation

  • Hormonal and life-stage considerations

Our role is to help you understand what’s happening, restore function, and build resilience, not just chase symptoms.

Who We Help

Women’s pelvic health physiotherapy may help if you’re experiencing:

  • Pelvic pain or pain with intimacy

  • Urinary leakage, urgency, or frequency

  • Bowel symptoms or difficulty emptying

  • Prolapse symptoms or heaviness

  • Pregnancy-related pain or concerns

  • Birth preparation to optimise delivery efficiency and minimise risk of injury
  • Postpartum assessment, injury diagnosis and recovery

  • Abdominal wall changes/dysfunctions (including diastasis)

  • Perimenopause or menopause-related changes

  • Pain that feels persistent, complex, or hard to explain

  • Management of chronic pelvic conditions such as endometriosis, adenomyosis, PCOS, or recurring pelvic pain

If you’re unsure whether your symptoms are “normal” - that’s reason enough to book.

Our Approach to Pelvic Health Care

Pelvic health is never just one muscle - and treatment should never be one-size-fits-all.

Your care may include a combination of approaches, tailored to your needs and comfort:

  • Thorough assessment and diagnosis using a combination of techniques including real-time ultrasound, patient reported outcome measures (PROM), standardised testing such as bladder diary, bowel diary and manual assessment

  • Education to help you understand your symptoms

  • Hands-on treatment where appropriate (always with consent)

  • Movement-based rehabilitation and strength work

  • Pelvic floor retraining (strength, relaxation, coordination)

  • Nervous system and pain modulation strategies

  • Guidance around exercise, daily activities, and load management

  • Support for chronic pelvic conditions such as endometriosis, adenomyosis, PCOS, or recurring pelvic pain

Our focus is on long-term change, not short-term fixes, and on helping you live well despite chronic symptoms.

What Makes Fit2Function Different

  • Pelvic health care grounded in current evidence

  • Movement-positive, non-fear-based approach

  • Integration with strength, rehab, and Pilates where helpful

  • A supportive, high-vibe environment that feels safe and empowering

  • Focus on function, confidence, and quality of life

We believe pelvic health care should feel clear, collaborative, and empowering - not intimidating.
